So back in October 24, 2022, as a part of their "Strategy Update. The Growth Pillars" announcement, CI Games published a following infographic of their assesed development plans for next five years, so from 2023 to 2027.
As you can see, a new SGW installment is listed as an upcoming title with development span from 2024 to 2nd half of 2025 and with future updates to the end of 2027 (at least) and will be developed by the Underdog Studio (so Contracts & Contracts 2 devs) and an unnamed, outsourced studio.
As a Pole I have the benefit of easy access to Polish sources that go under the radar of English loudmouths, so I went digging around the profiles of CI Games, Underdog and their employees to find some info about anything else than LotF (I don't care about it) and Project Scorpio (possibly The Division clone which I don't care about either).
So for past few months CI's Global Talent Acquisition Specialist, Lucie Piskova, was sharing a lot of advertisements about open jobs @ Underdog Studio CI Games and from all of these I have found only a single job opening for Senior Producer of a team working on SGW (posted in February, position no longer available), everything else is about Project Scorpio, Hexworks and Lords of the Fallen. While I do not have much in common with game development, Producer's role is about leading the whole development team, reviewing the first prototype and then supervising the creation of the proper build. This would mean that the development process would start according to the infographic, or even earlier (especially that Project Scorpio still has open jobs).
In April, CEO of CI Games Marek Tymiński posted on Twitter that the company has held an investor call (25+ people) discussing the near future of the company (since 2022 they are under the dual listing on Polish and English investments markets) and another one is planned after the release of LotF 2023 in October. This sounds great, as it suggest a financial boost to the developer, but on the I haven't seen any information on the Project Survive except that it "may be released in 2023 as an early access game" (and this was said in 2022). My guess is that with release of LotF they will shed some more light onto what is happening with titles that are supposed to be concurrently developed in 2023 and 2024.
So yeah, that's what I wanted to share, if anyone else managed to find any additional clues on state of the SGW series I welcome you to post them here.
